Artist Donates Limited Prints DELTA Ministries International is an exceptional missions organization because of the value it places on the local church. When I saw its video about its Haitian relief efforts, I got tears in my eyes. Since I am still recovering from Lyme disease, and can’t go myself, I thought donating my art could be a way for me to help.  To view and order prints, click here

Haiti Relief & Recovery Teams Our hearts have been moved as we have watched the images during the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti.  Yet we know that God has not been surprised by this disaster.  In fact, quite the opposite, He is at work in this situation bringing glory and honor to His name. In partnership with "Haiti 4 Him", DELTA's strategy is to mobilize prayer, short-term mission teams and giving for long-term relief and recovery of Haiti.
Resources DELTA Ministries can provide you with the necessary resources needed to effectively train and mobilize your team for ministry.  These resources include websites, articles, curriculum and ministry tools.  These resources will help you learn and share about Jesus Christ to others as you serve on short-term mission teams:

Mission Team to Port-au-Prince, Haiti

The Field:  DELTA’s partner, Missions Door, has 5 pastors and 10 churches under its care and support. Despite the devastation to their churches and personal loss, these extraordinary servants have a desire to help their fellow Haitians and to ultimately share the words of eternal life and not just the daily bread for survival.

The Ministry: The Missions Door missionaries are completing the phase of repairing and rebuilding church buildings. The next phase will be many of the long-term projects necessary forclinic-at-la-vict-children recovery. This includes rebuilding and building new ministry centers in urban areas that will provide vocational training, job opportunities, and clean water among other things. One of the major projects that will be starting is a new village called the Village of Hope. This village will not only have houses but community buildings such as a church, medical clinic, school, and training center. Besides building projects, several of the churches are now running children’s programs as an escape from the tent cities. The buildings are being rebuilt and so are many lives!

The Team: Fifteen men from New Life Church in Chicago, Illinois will be in Port-au-Prince Haiti August 7-15, 2010 working with Missions Door church La Victoire Baptist Church. La Victoire was one of the first churches repaired following the earthquake. It is currently running its Kindergarten program and has opened a new after school program for more than 100 children from the nearby tent city. Each child gets a meal, plays games, hears a Bible story, and makes a craft to remind him or her of the lesson. The group from New Life will be working with the church on installing a water purification plant that will make clean water available to the children’s programs at the church as well as at a very small price to the community. This water purification plant will meet two needs by providing clean water at a discounted price as well as helping to fund the children’s programs, staff, and pastor of the church.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray that their trip will be clear of the devil’s obstacles.
  • Pray for clouds and a breeze so that much can be accomplished.
  • Pray for the many people of all ages who will benefit from access to clean water.
  • Pray for God’s favor, abundant blessing, and unmistakable guidance in all of their efforts to serve the people of Haiti and God!

TESTIMONIES

During my summer of ministry with the original MOP team, I knew that I would serve the Lord, in some form, for the rest of my life.  I didn't know what direction that commitment would take me.  I thought perhaps I would be a faithful attendee and a lay leader in some small church or maybe even a teacher on the mission field.  Looking back I can see how God used my involvment with MOP to help prepare me to serve him as a Pastor.
