Learn more about DELTA's Core.

DELTA Ministries International is an interdenominational evangelical organization that supports U.S. and international local churches by specializing in Short-Term and Mid-Term missions.  Since 1979, DELTA has trained and sent over 1000 churches, schools, and partner ministries and 10,100 individuals to make disciples in 100 countries and 30 U.S. states.

Blessed by the hand of God, a talented Board of Directors and a dedicated staff, DELTA Ministries International (DELTA) is entering its 35th year of ministry. Since 1979, DELTA has prepared, trained and mobilized over 10,000 individuals, on over 950 mission teams to 100 countries and 30 U.S. states to help fulfill God’s Great Commission. Each individual represents a life that has been impacted at his or her very core and has resulted in many transformed churches and souls won for Christ.

“Short-term mission is nothing new.  But its extent and staggering influence has been exploding through the church at large in just the last 10 years.  It is estimated that annually between one and four million are sent from a global perspective1.  This God-ordained explosion has created a tremendous need for supporting these short-term teams in a way that meets the U.S. Standards of Excellence (SOE) in Short-Term Mission.

As a result, DELTA’s mission is to serve as a missions resource for the local church as it cultivates Christ-like character in individuals who are fulfilling the Great Commission.  DELTA has three methods of ministries carried out to accomplish this mission:

  1. Mobilizing: To mobilize means to put into movement2.  DELTA puts churches, teams, individuals, leaders, schools and mission fields into movement to accomplish the Great Commission. This movement is from a home, pew or seat to a field location around the world. Since 1979 DELTA has mobilized 10,000 individuals and over 1,000 churches, schools and ministries into 100 countries and 30 US states.
  2. Coaching: A coach is one who instructs or trains2. DELTA provides each church, school, and partner ministry a personal coach that comes alongside to train and guide them on both general missions and short-term mission endeavors.  A DELTA coach will meet face-to-face but also by phone, video or email to equip for short-term excellence.
  3. Resourcing: DELTA provides resources such as curriculum, tools, digital downloads, articles, blogs, referrals and more. All of these resources have been developed by experienced and skilled short-term mission practitioners.

DELTA Ministries International assists the local church by training and deploying short-term mission teams throughout the world to assist national pastors, on-field missionaries, church planters and others who request a team with their ongoing ministry efforts and long-term ministry goals. DELTA's distinctive of being field-driven ensures each team meets a valid need on the field.

Woman and ChildAs a Christ-centered organization, all ministry functions exist for the goal of bringing people into a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. This is accomplished by sending hundreds of Christian representatives each year, from across the U.S. (a national impact) to over 80 countries around the world who participate in evangelism, discipleship, Bible training, racial reconciliation, providing health care, addressing cultural issues faced by youth and families and much more. Those who already know Christ and serve through DELTA Ministries are also exposed to training and an environment that strengthens their relationship with Christ. They learn to trust Him for provision, protection and open doors to share the Gospel while serving in their ministry location.

DELTA maintains a strong Biblical base and has conservative roots.  Any church, school or partner agency can apply, but in order for a church to be accepted and send a team, there must be agreement to the precepts of the DELTA Statement of Faith.

DELTA strives for excellence and voluntarily adheres to ministry and financial accountabilities as members of the Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Mission (SOE) and the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).
